Para dagdag dalaw! Delos Santos wants to convert Palawan penal property into eco-park

Apr 8, 2017 @ 15:59

If things go well, the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan might see an increase of visits in the future.

Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Benjamin Delos Santos has expressed plans to also convert the huge 23-hectare property of the IPPF into an eco-park.

“Ecotourism is also being planned as part of income generation both for the PDLs (persons deprived of liberty) and Bucor,” Delos Santos said in a statement.

Apart from this, Delos Santos indicated that the property also has “the agricultural potential of IPPF for rice, coffee and fruit-bearing trees.”

Delos Santos visited the IPPF during the sixth and final leg of his nationwide visit of various prisons and penal farms in the country.
