General Trias Mayor Antonio Ferrer on Wednesday, November 30 called the city’s two-day job fair a success as an estimated 2,275 job applicants trooped to Robinson’s Place in Barangay Tejero to participate in the employment activity.

The event was initiated by the General Trias City Public Employment Service Office and 45 local companies and seven agencies participated in the two-day activity.

The politiko was happy with the huge turnout of prospective job seekers.

“The people of General Trias and neighboring town or city need not travel far in search for greener pastures because of the hiring companies and firms who come and offer jobs for them right here,” Ferrer said.

The two-day job and employment event resulted in the on-the-spot hiring of 104 aspirants and 1,612 of them were qualified for subsequent interviews scheduled by the participating business firms.

Various participating companies based in Cavite included Robinson’s, Gen. City Computer Center, Jobstart, NCST-IIRT and locators and industries in the economic zones such as Gateway Business Park, EPZA and FCIE.

The government agencies Pag-Ibig Fund, Philhealth, NSO, SSS and BIR also participated in the job fair to provide assistance to applicants for their documentary requirements.
