Kunin sa allowance ng pulitiko: CBCP exec wants law for P2,000 added SSS pension fast-tracked

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines is asking lawmakers to fast-track the approval of a measure providing an added P2,000 pension for retiring members of the Social Security System.

Lipa (Batangas) Archbishop Ramon Arguelles said the added among could come from the allowances of lawmakers and even SSS officials.

Kung 2020 pa ibigay baka patay na sila hindi na kailangan yung dagdag,” Arguelles, who chairs the CBCP Permanent Committee on Public Affairs, said on Church-run Radyo Veritas.

Arguelles branded as unacceptable the SSS’ executive order giving an initial added P1,000 pension for now, while it works to add its assets.

Yet, Arguelles lamented some lawmakers are getting added perks like pork barrel funds.
