Cagayan has more than sufficient rice supply despite ‘Lawin’ devastation

Despite the massive agricultural damage inflicted on Cagayan by Typhoon “Lawin’s” onslaught last month, the National Food Authority (NFA) has assured residents that there is more than sufficient supply of rice in the province.
This was the assurance gave by NFA Cagayan provincial director Emmanuel Villanueva in a statement Thursday, November 24.
At the moment, the NFA has 20,000 bags of imported rice which arrived this week.
Villanueva said this will ensure the steady rice supply in the province.
The NFA official said that they are expecting an additional 25,000 bags of imported rice this coming January.
