Huling Paalam: Bataan sends off Vice Governor-elect Garcia to after life on Father’s Day

It was a gloomy Father’s Day for the bereaved family, friends, and supporters of Bataan Vice Governor-elect and former Congressman Enrique ‘Tet’ Garcia, Jr. who was formally laid to rest on Sunday (June 19).
Among those present at Garcia’s burial was his colleague in the House of Representatives during the 12th Congress, former Makati Congressman and television anchor Teodoro ‘Teddy Boy’ Locsin, Jr.
“TET was fittingly buried on Father’s Day as a devoted husband and a good father of their children and of the people of Bataan. He was in equal measure a faithful servant of our nation…” Locsin tweeted. Attached were the photos he took during the funeral mass.

Garcia died on Monday (June 13) at the Makati Medical Center after losing to a lingering liver ailment. He first entered politics in 1987 after winning the elections to represent the second district of Bataan in the House of Representatives.
During the May 9 elections, Garcia ran unopposed as vice governor, leaving Bataan with no one to replace him at least for the time being. His son, Albert Garcia, is the incumbent governor of the province.
