Bataoil urges NAIA workers to squeal on ‘laglag-bala’ colleagues
Pangasinan 2nd District Rep. Leopoldo Bataoil is encouraging employees of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to become traitors – for a good cause.
The retired police general said the airport workers would be of big help to authorities if they report co-workers they know and suspect to be involved in the “laglag-bala” scam.
“If you don’t, you will be seeing the Filipino people branding your entire organization, even the remaining innocent and hard working airport employees like you, as criminals,” Bataoil said in a PNA article.
He said the airport employees contact his office or personally inform him of the activities of their unscrupulous colleagues.
The Pangasinan lawmaker pointed out that the incidents have put the entire nation in a bad light.
“As a retired police general, I am angered on these issues because the profiles of those arrested are clearly far from the profiles of criminals and syndicate members,” Bataoil, speaking like a police officer, said.
He also proposed that airport personnel, whether civilian or police, should go through metal detectors when going to work.
“But most of all, we should now penalize to the fullest extent of the law those people who have already exploited the victims of the ‘laglag-bala’ scam,” Bataoil stressed.
