Months before the 2016 elections, netizens are abuzz with another election scenario similar to the magic of “Noy-Bi.”
Already they are calling for the all-women tandem in 2016 – Grace Poe and Leni Robredo.
In 2010, the elections turned to a surprise when voters put to the presidency then Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Benigno Aquino III and to the vice presidency the opposition United Nationalist Alliance standard bearer Jejomar Binay.
They were voted to the top posts after the tandem “Noy-Bi” floated in the media.
Will we see the same tandem magic in 2016 in Grace-Leni?
Poe, the adopted daughter of action star Fernando Poe Jr., is running as an independent but most likely with the backing of the Nationalist People’s Coalition. Her vice presidential candidate is Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
Poe faces a disqualification case from the Senate on citizenship issues, having been left a foundling in a church in Jaro, Iloilo before being adopted by FPJ and actress Susan Roces.
Meanwhile, neophyte Camarines Sur. Rep. Leni Robredo has just accepted being the vice president of Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas.
Robredo won as congresswoman in 2013 buoyed by public sentiment for her husband the late Interior Sec. Jesse Robredo, who died in a helicopter crash in 2012. Rep. Robredo vowed to espouse the “tsinelas” leadership that her husband pushed for when he was Naga mayor.
Robredo toppled the 40-year rule of the Villafuerte political dynasty when she won the congressional district in 2013.
Here are some social media sentiments pushing for a Grace-Leni tandem.

LP's Liberal Panty incident might make me decide to go Grace-Leni. Imagine 12 years of women in the malacanang?

Grace and Leni running together would seem too contrived. But this? And with Binay and Marcos in the mix? This could be perfect. #PoeRobredo

What if in the end it will be Poe-Robredo? I don't know but it feels like she (Robredo) was dragged into this. God bless her family.

If Lenny runs as VP and election results register a Poe/ Robredo victory, great for RP! http://t.co/ou34AGmk2h pic.twitter.com/CmKxa57bSK
