Guv Pineda orders massive cleanup of Pampanga to contain dengue

Sep 30, 2015 @ 4:59

Pampanga Gov. Lilia Pineda has ordered a massive cleanup of the province’s entire 505 villages following an outbreak of dengue since January.

Pineda made the directive after visiting Sta. Cruz and Lourdes villages in Lubao, which were worst hit by dengue.

At the same time, the governor distributed P2,000 financial aid to 33 dengue patients at Jose Lingad Regional Hospital, also in Lubao.

Based on an article in Headline Gitnang Luzon, Pampanga has 3,252 dengue cases from January to September 19 of this year.

This is 68 percent higher compared to the 1,934 cases in the same period last year.

“Nanay Gob (Pineda) wants free hospitalization for all dengue patients confined in government hospitals.

She also offered assistance to dengue patients that need to be transferred to private hospitals, should there be a shortage of hospital supplies from government hospitals,” provincial health officer Dr. Marcelo Jaochico said.
