Arayat mayor Alejandrino eyes cityhood by 2018
If reelected, Arayat, Pampanga mayor Emmanuel “Bon” Alejandrino has vowed to pursue the cityhood of the municipality by 2018.
“Nakalatag na ang mga gagawin namin, ‘yung mga plano to improve Arayat,” the incumbent mayor said in a Sunstar report.
Alejandrino, a member of the Liberal Party, is eyeing his second term against his predecessor, former mayor Chito Espino.
Alejandrino also reported that officials of Pampanga’s 1st District are also pushing for the conversion of Angeles City as a lone congressional district.
If this pushes through, Arayat and other neighboring towns will be covered by the new second district of the province, he said.
“Clark will be the next Makati, heard it will be called Metro Clark. At tayo, kasama ang Mabalacat at Guagua yata ang papasok sa District 2,” Alejandrino explained.
In announcing his reelection bid, Alejandrino said he wants to continue developing the first-class municipality.
“Malayo na ang narating nang bayan simula nung umupo ako. Sa katagalan, ngayon palang kami bumabangon,” he stressed.
