Poe says #AlDub should’ve been a bigger hit if telcos have faster Internet
Senator Grace Poe blasted the country’s leading telecommunication firms Smart, Globe and Sun for failing to improve Internet speed in the country.
In her message before the business community of the Ilocos Region and the Cordillera Region, Poe said that the country’s Internet speed of 2 megabits per second (mbps) was pathetic compared to other countries.
At the Joint Induction Ceremonies of the Metro Urdaneta Business, Inc. and the Metro Dagupan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. held on August 26 at the CSI Stadia, Poe said:
Kung mabilis ang ating signal, I think we will obtain dominance in many other fields,” said Poe referring to the Internet love team, Alden Richards and Yaya Dub, on the lunchtime show Eat Bulaga which generated 3 million tweets.
