Albay Gov. Joey Salceda believes the tandem of Mar Roxas and Senator Grace Poe in the 2016 elections is good for the country.
The national campaigner of the Liberal Party (LP), Salceda explained that if Roxas and Poe are elected, with the support of the 60 percent of the electorate, it will push the country’s “holistic approach” program.
“If they (Roxas and Poe) unite, this will ensure that majority will win after nearly 30 years of no plurality vote since 1986. It’s hard for President to serve the country with 60-percent plurality that is not his supporters,” the Albay governor was quoted in a PNA story.
This will also discourage Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte from running for president and divide the votes, Salceda added.
Salceda, however, opined that if Poe will run for the presidential post, it would be an uphill battle and a four-corner fight for presidency involving Roxas, Poe, Vice President Jejomar Binay and Duterte.
He admitted that there is still so much work to be done for Roxas to win.
Salceda has dropped his 2016 political plans, saying he intends to devote his time to support LP and Roxas.
