Lucban Mayor Olivier Dator laments non passage of 2022 budget, blames politicking
Lucban Mayor Olivier Dator is disheartened that the town’s 2022 budget has not been approved, which would deprive social programs of funding.
Dator said his opponents in the municipal council let politics prevail and failed to approve the 2022 budget.
He said five councilors voted “no,” four voted “yes,” and one abstained.
This means there would be no funds for some social service programs, such as the pension for senior citizens 65 years old and older, he said.
It’s the people who will suffer because of the failure to pass he budget, he said.
He would continue to fight for what the people deserve, the mayor said.
