Santa Rosa exceeds COVID-19 jab target
Santa Rosa, Laguna outdid itself and vaccinated more individuals than it had targeted during the three-day national vaccination drive.
A post on the Santa Rosa government’s Facebook page said it was able to administer 38,771 doses, which exceeded its target of 33,570.
Laguna province also overshot its goal, vaccinating 256,950 individuals which is more than its target of 210,660.
National government officials lauded the efforts of Santa Rosa and visited the city to observe its vaccination drive.
The officials were led by National Task Force Against COVID-19 Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. and Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
Santa Rosa Mayor Arlene Arcillas thanked local government personnel, barangay officials, and the private sector for their efforts to make the campaign a success.
The good turnout showed that people want to protect themselves and their loved ones, Arcillas said.
“Ang dami ng tao na nagpabakuna ay tinitingnan natin na pagnanais ng ating mamamayan na maprotektahan ang kanilang sarili at kanilang mahal sa buhay,” she said.
