Mandanas declares support for Marcos Jr-Sara tandem
By Billy Begas
Reelectionist Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas on Thursday declared support for presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio.
Mandanas, who filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) under the ruling PDP-Laban, said Marcos and Duterte have proven track records, competence and sincerity to serve and lead the Filipino people.
He said the message of unity will also help propel the country to full economic recovery amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am endorsing and supporting BBM for President and Mayor Inday Sara for vice president. Their message of unity is the right message this time,” Mandanas said.
The Marcos-Sara UniTeam went to Batangas a day after visiting Quezon province.
Marcos and Duterte were joined by Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats president and House Majority Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Deputy Speaker and Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte, and senatorial candidate Harry Roque.
Batangas has 1.7 million registered voters, based on the 2019 Commission on Elections (Comelec) data.
