Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto gets heartfelt thanks for his public service

Nov 2, 2021 @ 11:56

Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto got more than medical care from the nurse looking after him in the hospital.

He also got a sincere and heartfelt thank you for the kind of public service he provides.

In a Facebook post, Nieto shared that when the nurse came to give him his painkiller for his post-surgery care, she took the opportunity to thank him for what he had done for Cainta.

She told him her parents live in Brookside and are grateful for all he has done.

He felt the sincerity of the teary-eyed nurse, he said.

He replied with a “welcome” to the nurse and said he was so touched by her message that he decided to share it on Facebook.

He hopes his son would read it again one day, he said.

It’s always nice to be appreciated!

“I was just alone in the room.. then a nurse comes in to hand me my 6 -hour -effective -painkiller.. i politely asked if she can extend to me my bottled water to which she readily obliged. I still have difficulty moving around as the incisions created by a surgery a couple of days back are still sore. As i handed back the consumed drink, she turned around and started talking..

“Sir i would like to take this opportunity to thank you for everything that you did to Cainta. My parents live in Brookside and they are so grateful for all the work na ginawa niyo sa kanila”

I gazed upon her to see if she was merely patronizing.. Nope..i saw a teary eyed lady who conveyed a thought that perhaps she had always wanted to share but never had the chance.

I just nodded and said “welcome” as she led herself to the door.

I was touched. Enough to move me to write this piece….

For my Jacob to read when he wakes up.. and for him to read one more time when he raises his own family..

Morning, Cainta..,” Nieto posted.
