Push that pedal! Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto starts making his town more bike-friendly
Biking is in, and Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto wants to make sure this activity will continue to catch on in his town.
In a Facebook post, Nieto said he would put up 97 bike racks all over Cainta so that people would be encouraged to use their bikes to go to work.
He would also like to put up a bike/ pedestrian bridge from the east bank to the west bank, but he would have to see first if the local government has enough funds for this.
After the bike racks, he would also designate zipper lanes for bikers.
It would be pilot tested in two weeks, he said.
Cainta may be a biker’s haven soon!
“Monday holiday meets @ Red Keep.. with Traffic consultant Jedd Ugay and MPSO head, Art Fausto.. first on the block.. maglalagay tayo ng 97 bike racks all over town para ganahan ang mga taong gumamit ng mga bike papuntang mga opisina.. start tayo sa lunes gumawa.. may ambitious project tayo na maglagay ng bike/pedestrian bridge from east bank to west bank.. check ko lang muna budget natin… dun muna tayo sa bike racks.. next point for implementation natin.. gagawa tayo ng zipper lane from brookside to LF logistics sa umaga.. pilot test tayo in 2 weeks.. gandang umaga😊😊,” Nieto posted.
