Let the games begin! Santa Maria Mayor Cindy Carolino launches mini tournament for non contact sports

Jul 29, 2021 @ 10:13

Residents of Santa Maria longing to go out and compete have been able to get some relief.

This is because Santa Maria Mayor Cindy Carolino opened a mini tournament for non contact sports, specifically badminton and table tennis.

Because of the quarantine, only a small tournament could be held, Carolino explained in a Facebook post.

But this doesn’t mean it couldn’t be fun.

The mayor herself joined in on some of the games upon the prodding of the young contenders.

Had she known, she would have practiced, she said.

At least she got to play!
