Elbow bump muna! Dan Fernandez observes physical distancing in greeting constituents
Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez is shunning handshakes and hugs as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 when he meets his constituents.
In recent meetings with cash aid beneficiaries, Fernandez greeted his constituents with an elbow bump, which he called “siko touch” in a Facebook post.
He made up for not getting close to his constituents by treating them to native Filipino delicacies while waiting for the release of cash assistance.
“Siko touch lang muna kabayan [bicep emoji] then siomai, chicharon, spaghetti n bilobilo sa plastic… [wacky emoji] solve na meryenda ng mga beneficiaries natin sa Jose Zavalla ES, Labas ES at Southville ES,” Fernandez said on Facebook.
The lawmaker said they are distributing the cash assistance in batches to ensure physical distancing is observed.
“Buwan man po ang abutin pilitin po natin marating ang lahat. Maraming salamat sa pangunawa,” Fernandez said.
