Bong Go spends Sunday with Laguna fire victims
Instead of taking a day off, Senator Bong Go continued working Sunday and visited Laguna to help the 31 families affected by a fire in Santa Rosa City.
Go said it was important to him to personally give out aid to needy Filipinos so he can also hear their concerns.
“Pitong araw naman sa isang linggo, apat na araw sa senado, sa mga ganitong araw po na pwede akong magpahinga, hindi na po ako magpapahinga, ilalaan ko na lang po sa mga tao,” he said.
During his visit, Go provided financial assistance to individuals and distributed food and grocery packs. He also committed to provide uniforms and school supplies to students affected by the incident.
Go was also accompanied by representatives of concerned government agencies that can extend assistance to the fire victims, such as the National Housing Authority (NHA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP).
He assured the fire victims that he will take care of the transportation and other fees of those who need medical assistance and further check-up from health specialists.
