Lahat makikinabang! Find out how Kit Nieto made healthcare free in Cainta
Cainta, Rizal mayor Kit Nieto was inspired to provide free healthcare services to his constituents after undergoing a medical emergency.
In an interview with Quezon City Rep. Bingbong Crisologo’s team, Nieto recalled having doctors at The Medical City attend to him when his blood sugar dipped.
After recovering, Nieto said he thought of his constituents who may not have the means he had to seek medical help.
“Yung mga diagnostic services, mga medical procedures, these are the things they try to avoid. Bakit? Kasi magastos. So I thought of a way, ‘Bakit hindi ko siya ilibre?'” he said.
Nieto said Cainta residents can avail themselves of various healthcare services for free at public hospitals in the city as long as they have the card provided by the local government.
