Madaling tandaan! Find out Jun Ynares’ inspirational advice for graduates
It’s graduation season again and politikos like Antipolo City mayor Jun Ynares are getting invitations left and right to appear as graduation speaker.
In his March 31 column for the Manila Bulletin, Ynares shared the three words he would like every graduate to take to heart: “Aral, asal, dasal (Life-long learning. Attitude. Prayer).”
Ynares explained that he learned about the tidbits of advice “from one of our elders in the province of Rizal.”
“I had asked one of them what he would say to a young person by way of an advice the latter can make good use of as he goes to the next stage of his life. He said there are three important things that matter in life,” he said.
Ynares said it is also important for graduates to learn the following things: “Magsikap, mag-impok, at makisama (To strive hard. To save. To get along well with others).”
The mayor said the person who possesses the traits he shared will stand out in a crowd.
“That person provides a contrast. He or she becomes a whiff of fresh air,” he said.
