Boying Remulla urges DOTr to let PUVs from Cavite travel to Manila: Marami pang aayusin sa PITX!
Cavite governor Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla has urged the Department of Transportation to allow public utility vehicles (PUVs) from the province ply their routes to and from Manila amid the problems seen in the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).
Remulla said thousands of residents from Cavite suffer long hours waiting for a ride to and from their destinations in Manila since PUVs from Cavite can only travel up to PITX.
The terminal was designed to connect commuters from southern provinces such as Cavite to Metro Manila.
“Batid natin ang malaking potensyal ng terminal na ito, ngunit ang aking mga kababayan ay naapektuhan na dahil sa WALANG AYOS NG TRANSISYON AT SISTEMA SA INISYAL NA OPERASYON NITO,” he said in a December 9 Facebook post.
Remulla said commuters from Cavite are suffering from the limitation imposed on the PUVs’ trips since they have to compete with other residents in Metro Manila for vehicles going to their destinations.
Pending the resolution of the problems with PITX, the governor said Cavite-based PUVs must be allowed in Mereo Manila.
Remulla also urged the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board to act immediately on applications for franchises of Cavite-based PUVs.
He lamented that the LTFRB has been moving at a snail’s pace on the franchise applications despite the soaring demand for their services by commuters from Cavite.
