DOH to monitor individuals vaccinated with Dengvaxia in Calabarzon
The Department of Health (DOH) in Calabarzon is set to physically examine individuals who received the controversial Dengvaxia dengue vaccine.
The DOH said the physical examination aims to better monitor the condition of the vaccinees.
It said it will create a database to monitor the individuals’ health status.
DOH-Calabarzon Regional Director Eduardo Janairo said “the Dengvaxia confusion in the country will continue to bring scare and panic not only to affected individuals and their families but also to the rest of the country” without proper monitoring of the vaccinated individuals.
“Not only that it will cause lower vaccination coverage and distrust, but will also affect the psychological behavior of the children who were vaccinated,” Janairo said.
