Partners! Quezon Gov. David Suarez shares life-saving program with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte

Jul 6, 2018 @ 12:57

Quezon Province and Davao City are partners— not in crime— but in ensuring the healthy lives of pregnant mothers and newborn babies.

Quezon Gov. David Suarez was grateful to be able to share the province’s Q1K or first 1000 days of life program with Sara, he said on Instagram.

The program seeks to ensure that pregnant women get the necessary information and health interventions, and these continue until the child is two years old. The program underscores the importance of the first 1000 days of life to a child’s development and long-term health.

Suarez said he was glad to help Davao City even as he lauded its accomplishments. He was impressed with how fast it has been developing and it is now taking steps to protect the next generation, he said.

It can only get better from here, he said.

“@indaysaraduterte mayor thank you so much for the opportunity to share our Q1k program with you. I was very impressed with how fast Davao is developing and ensuring the next generation is healthy, strong, smart and productive will definitely move your city to achieve greater heights, daghan salamat,” Suarez posted on Instagram.
