Residents of Aritao in Nueva Vizcaya stand to benefit from a newly completed P44-million flood control program, the Department of Public Works and Highways said.

The DPWH said the project by its Nueva Vizcaya Second District Engineering Office supports to the Mangayang Bridge located at Barangay Banganan in Aritao.

It said this includes a 636-lineal-meter revetment structure with a combination of gabion and granular fill embankment materials.

DPWH said this will strengthen the bridge that links Aritao-Quirino Road.

NVSDEO District Engineer Ronald Reyes said the flood control project will “help prevent inland flooding and protecting lives and properties of residents during heavy rains.”

“This project is critically important to small town communities near the rivers especially when water level in the river increases because of heavy rains,” he added.
