Payback time: Guv Espino files libel vs Kimi Cojuangco supporter

May 30, 2016 @ 8:55

Not content with getting elected as congressman, the outgoing Pangasinan governor continued to put pressure against people who opposed him.

Pangasinan Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. filed a libel case against Manila Economic and Cultural Office Chairman Amadeo R. Perez Jr. who supported the failed reelection bid of Rep. Kimi Cojuangco.

After being proclaimed by the Comelec as the incoming 5th District Representative, Espino declared that he was extending his hand of reconciliation to his rivals “for the future of our children.”

Espino assured everyone that “he will leave all things behind and move forward” while he spoke of
“reconciliation with everyone with justice.”

But his actions contradict his words.

On May 16,2015 Espino charged Perez before the Pangasinan Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for alleged libelous and malicious statements repeatedly aired in a local radio station since October 2015.

Perez was formerly the 5th District Representative of Pangasinan and former mayor of Urdaneta City.

Espino has shown to be a vindictive politiko especially against his critics.
In August 2015, Espino filed libel cases against four Pangasinan radio commentators whom he accused of destroying his good name and whom he said should have their tongues cut.
