Inip na! GMA wants SC to resolve house arrest request
Apparently, former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo could no longer wait for presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte to take his seat in Malacanang.
Though Duterte said that he prefers her placed under house arrest, Arroyo is not waiting for him to take action and has asked the Supreme Court (SC) to now resolve her pending petition to be granted house arrest.
Her counsel, lawyer Jose Flaminiano, has submitted a pleading before the High Court asking that the December 1, 2015 petition be “considered submitted for resolution.”
Once it has been resolved, the lawyer asked that the “the Court issue an order placing petitioner under “house arrest”, changing her place of “imprisonment” from the Veterans Memorial Medical Center to her residence at No. 41 Badjao Street, La Vista Subdivision, Quezon City.”
The politiko is facing a plunder case over the P365.9 million that was allegedly diverted from 2008 to 2010 from the Intelligence Fund of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO).
Arroyo has been placed under hospital arrest since 2012 at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) due the plunder case against her but subsequently asked to be placed under house arrested due to the non-imprevement of her health condition.
