Grace or Miriam? Imee still tight-lipped on preferred presidential bet

Apr 26, 2016 @ 15:31

Less than two weeks before Election Day, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos remains mum on who she is endorsing for president.

At the sidelines of Senator Grace Poe’s visit to Burgos, Ilocos Norte on Tuesday (April 26), Marcos was asked about who she is supporting in the presidential race.

The governor replied with a laugh: “Ewan ko.”

Marcos, however, said Poe was strong in their bailiwick.

“Malakas naman siya kasi dito eh, kasi love na love si FPJ kahit papano,” she said, referring to the Poe.

The senator’s late father, actor Fernando Poe Jr., was known to have filmed several movies in Ilocos Norte, including the popular classic “Ang Panday.”

Marcos’ hesitation to name her preferred presidential bet likely stems from the fact that her brother, Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is running alongside Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago.

Santiago has consistently placed last in pre-election surveys while Poe ranks second next to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
