L-Ray, Migz Villafuerte have defied a ‘Commandment’

Mar 27, 2016 @ 13:48

Moses ought to smash the Tablets of the Law on the heads of former Camarines Sur governor L-Ray Villafuerte and his successor Migz Villafuerte, as far as clan patriarch Luis Villafuerte is concerned.

The elder Villafuerte practically told ABS-CBN’s “Kampanya Serye” that L-Ray and Migz–his son and grandson, respectively–have violated at least one of The Bible’s Ten Commandments.

“Ano ba sabi ng Ten Commandments? Honor your father and your mother. They’re very arrogant about their position now they will have to learn their lesson again,” the 80-year-old Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) said.

For those who don’t know, the Villafuertes have been a fractured political clan since 2004, when L-Ray replaced his father, Luis, as governor.

The story goes like this: Luis groomed his son for the gubernatorial race, which he won. But then L-Ray “defied” his father by firing all the people who has helped the latter in the local elections.

The two have barely spoken to each other since.

When L-Ray reached his maximum term of nine years in 2013, he fielded his son, Migz, against his old man.

Public face offs between Luis and his grandson Migz would even result to arguments. At the polls though, it was the younger Villafuerte who emerged victorious.
