Peas in a pod: Here’s what Imee thinks Duterte, Miriam have in common

Dec 1, 2015 @ 18:04

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago may not be potty mouthed, but Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos believes she shares a key trait in common with Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

In her Bulgar column, Marcos said Duterte is no different from Santiago as far as being feisty is concerned.

Referring to the Davao mayor, Marcos said: “Wala rin siyang ipinagkaiba kay Manang Miriam Santiago na isa ring presidential bet. Kapag nagsalita rin ito, awtomtikong isang malaking istorya din na talagang pag-uusapan ng media.”

With their fearless statements and no-nonsense ways, the governor believes Duterte and Santiago will be forces to reckon with in the May 2016 elections.

“Di malayong umariba ang dalawang ito sa sandaling magsimula na ang tunay na aksyon,” she said.

Marcos’ brother, Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., is Santiago’s running mate. However, he is also a good friend of Duterte and was rumored to have considered seeking the mayor’s endorsement for his candidacy for vice president.
