Imee Marcos to MMDA chief: Are you not ashamed?
Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos has joined raging calls to have Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Francis Tolentino axed from his post for his supposed inefficiency in managing Metro Manila’s traffic jams.
In her column in Bulgar, Marcos said she is wondering why Tolentino still clings to his position even as President Aquino has transferred Edsa’s traffic management to the Highway Patrol Group (HPG).
Marcos asked.
The fact that PNoy handed over the task to the HPG is a sign that he lost his confidence to Tolentino, the governor pointed out.
PNoy appointed Tolentino, former mayor of Tagaytay, to the MMDA in 2010.
Marcos noted the slight improvement in the traffic flow in Edsa since HPG’s takeover last Monday, especially in Balintawak.
Marcos stressed.
