Ex-CamSur Guv Villafuerte to face Leni in 2016
Former Camarines Sur governor and 3rd District Rep. Luis Villafuerte will make a comeback in 2016 against incumbent Rep. Leni Robredo.
The 80-year-old Villafuerte said he is confident he can beat Robredo, the widow of Interior secretary Jesse Robredo, if she decides to run for reelection.
Villafuerte bared his election plan during his birthday luncheon at the Bicol State College of Applied Science and Technology in Naga City, according to GMA News.
Villafuerte was governor of Camarines Sur from 1986 to 1992 and 1995 to 2004, and 3rd District representative from 2014 to 2010.
He ran for governor again in 2013 but lost to his own grandson Luis “Migz” Villafuerte.
On the other hand, Robredo beat his wife Nelly for the Congress seat in 2013.
Villafuerte is a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).
