Mark Villar: Marijuana will put us in danger
Las Piñas Rep. Mark Villar has expressed opposition to a bill filed in Congress seeking the legalization of marijuana for medical purposes.
Villar said allowing the use of marijuana, even for medical purposes, will only aggravate the illegal drug problem of the country.
“We have problems in illegal drug and if we legalize the use of marijuana even for medication this may contribute to this problem. It will put us to danger,” Villar was quoted by Philippine News Agency (PNA) as saying.
“With so many problem that we are facing today, I guess that issue should not be our priority,” he added.
Isabela Rep. Rodolfo Albano III filed House Bill 4477, “The Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act”, that would allow the use of marijuana to treat certain illnesses.
