Guv Espino puts more pressure on antagonistic Pangasinan media
Pangasinan Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. Is proving to be a man of his words
After threatening Pangasinan reporters to “refrain from stoking the fire of hatred and deepening animosities because of politics,” Espino has filed several libel cases against journalists.
Espino filed 9 counts of libel against Lina Cervantes who is a commentator on the radio program Isyu, Balita Reaksyon over DWPR.
Other radio commentators who received summons for libel are Ike Palinar, Tito Tamayo, Jessie Perez, and Macky Delgado.
A Politiko source said Espino’s “chilling” message has prompted Pangasinan reporters to be more security-conscious.
