All in the family: 2 couples to run in 2 Pangasinan towns
Two husband and wife tandems for mayor and vice mayor in their respective towns in Pangasinan are shaping up for the 2016 elections.
A Politiko source said that in San Nicolas, incumbent Mayor Rebecca Saldivar is giving way to her husband Leoncio Saldivar for the position of mayor while she vies for vice mayor.
Talk of the town is that retired ISAFP Chief Romeo Prestoza will challenge Leoncio Saldivar for mayor.
Prestoza has been making the rounds of barangays to enhance the voters’ awareness of his intention to run for mayor.
The town of San Nicolas is one of the two towns hosting the San Roque Multipurpose Dam. The other town is San Manuel.
In Balungao, former mayor Jose Peralta Jr. will seek to regain his seat after his brother Philipp ends his third term this 2016.
Jose’s wife, incumbent Vice Mayor Minda Peralta, will be his running mate.
The source said that Philipp will take a rest from politics.
